Do I need to have a current card issued by the American Heart Association to take a renewal course?
You must have a current, unexpired card issued by the AHA in order to take the renewal course. This does not include cards that say they follow the AHA guidelines. The card must be issued by the AHA.
How long will it take to get my certifications?
Once you complete the course, all certifications are issued within the 48 hours. If you don’t receive a card within 48 hours, reach out to us and we can assist you.
This does not include the Instructor Certification.
Will you come to my location?
We currently do not travel for single person classes. We will travel for group classes booked through us. In order for us to teach at your location you must have adequate space, something for us to play the videos on, and must be indoors. We do not charge a traveling fee as long as it is within 25 miles of our location.
Do you offer refunds?
We do not offer refunds at all. You may reschedule your class with atleast 24 hours notice. Rescheduling fees will apply.
How do I become an instructor?
We are always accepting new instructors. We have instructor classes available. If you do not see one listed under classes, feel free to reach out and we can arrange one if we do not have one scheduled. In order to become an insturctor with the AHA, you must have a current unexpired CPR card issued by the AHA.
The instructor course is made up of three parts. The first part is an online portion you complete before the scheduled class. The second part is the actual course itself. The third part is being monitored teaching a course. Assuming you pass all three sections, you’ll then be issued an instructor card.
How do I complete the online portion of a HeartCode class?
Students can register for a HeartCode BLS courses at https://shopcpr.heart.org/heartcode-bls The HeartCode online course is administered by the American Heart Association. While we can assist with the process of registration, all other issues should be directed to the American Heart Association.
Am I able to reschedule my appointment/class?
You may reschedule your class as long as it is 24 hours or more before the start of your class. There is a $15 rescheduling fee. If you are within the 24 hours, you will not be able to reschedule your class. If you do not show up for your class, it would be considered a no show no call.
What are your mask policies?
We currently do not require masks but continue to follow all state guidelines. All of our instructors are vaccinated.
Am I required to purchase the “printed and laminated” add on to get a card?
No. All students who successfully pass the course will receive an ecard. The printed and laminated card is 100% a convenience service.
Are books included in the cost of the course?
Books are only included in the instructor course. For all other courses, you must purchase the books separately.
What is the difference between HeartSaver and HeartSaver Total?
The basic HeartSaver includes optional videos within the program. HeartSaver is usually suitable for most jobs. HeartSaver Total requires you to watch the optional content and makes it OSHA complaint. If you are unsure with which you need, contact your place of employment.
HeartSaver basic is normally fine for most daycares, sports programs, cub scouts, and similar programs.
HeartSaver Total is normally ideal for construction workers, factories, and similar locations.
